Bayside, Glen Eira Greens, Fundraising – Call for ACTION

Bayside, Glen Eira Greens have an urgent need to raise funds for campaigning. There is the possibility of a double dissolution election occurring later this year and if that does not eventuate there will be a federal election and local government elections in 2016. Whilst the next state election is not due for a while, we also need to prepare for the possibility of a by-election in Brighton if the sitting member retires early.

To get the ball rolling a small group met last Sunday and have formed the FUNdraising Action Collective (FunAC for short). Our immediate goal is to hold one fund-raising event or activity per month for the rest of 2015. This is a big ask and will require input from a broad range of members, whether that involves helping out with organising and running events/activities, or simply coming along and supporting these.

FunAC will hold monthly meetings on the first Thursday of the month to plan and organise fundraising. If you can get involved at this level and would like to be placed on our contact list, please email Cheryl at or call her on 0412 705 349.

We are also planning to establish a list of members/supporters who are willing to be part of a “one off” and “small task” helper group. These are people who are not able to get heavily involved in planning and organising fundraising activities but are happy to be called upon to help out with specific tasks. This could involve things like staffing the door at an event, helping out with a sound system, putting together a hamper for a raffle etc. Again, if you are able to be part of this group, please email or call on 0412 705 349.
